The address

Reporting a file

One address, read by a person. Everything on this page goes to the same place.

contact@godrop.sh

Decisions here are made by a person, not by an automated system.

What to send

A report we can act on has four things in it. Without the first two we cannot find the file, and a message that only says a file is bad takes far longer to deal with than one that says which file and why.

  • The exact URL. The whole https://godrop.sh/f/... address, not a description of it.
  • What is wrong with it, in enough detail that somebody who is not a lawyer can see the problem without doing legal research.
  • How to reach you, a name and an email address, so we can confirm we got it and tell you what we did.
  • A statement that what you have told us is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.

What happens next

  • We confirm we received it, without delay.
  • We look at it and decide, without undue delay, and we tell you what we decided.
  • If the file goes, and it belongs to an account, we tell the person who uploaded it what was removed and why, so that they can answer. An anonymous upload has nobody to tell, which is a real limit of a service that deliberately records nothing about one.

Child sexual abuse material

Removed and reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as soon as we know of it, and the account behind it is closed. Nothing here scans for it, so a report is how we find out. Send the URL to the address above and it is dealt with ahead of everything else.

If something of yours was removed

Send a counter-notice to the same address. United States law asks it to include, substantially, all four of these:

  1. Your signature, physical or electronic.
  2. Identification of what was removed and the URL it was at.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address and telephone number, your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for the district you live in, or for any district in which we may be found if you are outside the United States, and your agreement to accept service from the person who sent the original notice.

We pass a counter-notice to whoever complained. Unless they tell us within ten business days that they have gone to court, we put the file back between ten and fourteen business days after receiving it.
